TRAINING RULES

Players will want growth for their characters, both in terms of jutsu and their abilities. Such growth can be achieved through training. Training is simply the act of your character practicing an ability or jutsu, formulating a jutsu, exercising, meditating, etc on a repetitive basis. For the purpose of the RP, training is to be typed out in order to obtain new abilities and jutsu. Below are the requirements for training Jutsu, Special Abilities, and gaining a new Summoning Contract. Following that are the methods for submitting training for review by the staff.

The links below can be used for quick navigation in order to jump to a specific section.

Jutsu

In order to add jutsu to your character's arsenal you must provide training threads consisting of the character practicing the utilization of said jutsu, or formulation of jutsu for customs and then get the training approved. To obtain a certain ranked jutsu, the training thread must meet a word count requirement, which may be performed in either a one-shot post or multiple posts. The word requirement for each rank of jutsu is as follows:

D-rank Jutsu :: 500 word minimum
C-rank Jutsu :: 850 word minimum
B-rank Jutsu :: 1100 word minimum
A-rank Jutsu :: 1600 word minimum
S-rank Jutsu :: 2500 word minimum

There are no limits for how many jutsu you may learn in total, but you may only learn one (1) jutsu at a time. In order to submit jutsu for training one must post the notification of training in the respective character's Jutsu List Thread which should be located in the Character Arsenal List. For more information regarding the Character Arsenal List, refer to the Character Creation Guide, section "Other Suggestions".

Prior to creating the training thread, all players must submit the jutsu they wish to train as a post at the bottom of their Character Arsenal List, with the Training Template properly filled out. This must be done regardless of whether or not the jutsu in question is an Indexed jutsu or Custom. For Custom jutsu (as the Training Template specifies) you must also include a link to the Custom thread that contains the approved jutsu.
In other words, the process of training a custom jutsu is as follows:

  • 1. Create the Custom Jutsu that you want the character to train using the Custom Jutsu Template and submit it to the Custom Jutsu Board.
  • 2. Receive approval of Custom Jutsu
  • 3. Submit the Training Template, which includes a link to the approved Custom Jutsu, as a post under the character's Arsenal List.
  • 4. Perform the required training for the Jutsu, dependent on rank.
  • 5. Get approval of the training.
  • 6. Once the training is approved, the Jutsu will be added to the character's arsenal.

The process for training an Indexed Jutsu is as follows:

  • 1. Submit the Training Template, which includes the name of the Indexed Jutsu, as a post under the character's Arsenal List.
  • 2. Perform the required training for the Jutsu, dependent on rank.
  • 3. Get approval of the training.
  • 4. Once the training is approved, the Jutsu will be added to the character's arsenal.

When training for Jutsu, please keep the following rules in mind:

  • You may not begin training a jutsu that is ranked higher than your Shinobi Rank, with the exception of the rules below. Thus, if your character already meets the limits below, they may not train another jutsu ranked higher than themselves.
  • Academy Students may not possess any jutsu above E-rank
  • Genin may only ever possess one (1) B-rank Jutsu
  • Chuunin may only ever possess one (2) A-rank Jutsu
  • Jounin may only ever possess two (2) S-rank Jutsu
  • Elite Jounin and above have no limitations on Jutsu, in terms of rank.

Special Abilities

In order to add Special Abilities (SAs) to your character's SA list you must provide training threads consisting of the character perfecting the specific technique or ability. To obtain a certain ranked SA, the training thread must meet a word count requirement, which may be performed in either a one-shot post or multiple posts. The word requirement for each specific SA are listed in the SA's Indexed description. These must be met before you will be allowed to obtain the SA.

There are limits on the total number of Special Abilities each rank may have. The limits are as follows:

Students :: 1 Special Ability
Genin :: 3 Special Abilities
Chuunin :: 5 Special Abilities
Jounin :: 7 Special Abilities
Elite Jounin :: 9 Special Abilities
Sennin :: 10 Special Abilities
Shuchō :: 11 Special Abilities

The process for training a Special Ability (SA) is as follows:

  • 1. Submit the Training Template, which includes the name of the Special Ability, as a post under the character's Arsenal List.
  • 2. Perform the required training for the SA, dependent on rank.
  • 3. Get approval of the training.
  • 4. Once the training is approved, the SA will be added to the character's arsenal.

When training for a Special Ability, please keep the following rules in mind:

  • You may not begin training an SA that is ranked two or more ranks higher than your Shinobi Rank,
  • You may not exceed your limit of SA at anytime
  • You must meet all requirements for the SA, as specified in the SA's Index Description
  • Once you have obtained an SA you may not remove it or exchange it for another for any reason. Thus, choose wisely. This does not apply to the Physical Based, series SA's such as Strength or Speed, which are replaced upon ranking them up.

Summoning Contracts

In order to add a Summoning Contract or Individual Summons within a Contract, to your character's arsenal you must provide training threads consisting of the character finding and signing the Contract in blood or practicing the utilization of the Summoning Contract (for those already possessing a contract) then get the training approved. To obtain a Summoning Contract or to obtain a certain ranked Individual Summon, the training thread must meet a word count requirement, which may be performed in either a one-shot post or multiple posts. The word requirement for each rank of summon is as follows:

New Summoning Contract :: 1000 word minimum

D-rank Individual Summon :: 500 word minimum
C-rank Individual Summon :: 1000 word minimum
B-rank Individual Summon :: 1500 word minimum
A-rank Individual Summon :: 2000 word minimum

A character may only ever possess one (1) summoning contract. There are also limits on the number of Individual Summons one may possess within the Summoning Contract. These limits are based on Shinobi Rank.

Student :: No Summoning Contract
Genin :: Two (2) Individual Summon Limit
Chuunin :: Three (3) Individual Summon Limit
Jounin :: Four (4) Individual Summon Limit
Elite-Jounin / Sennin / Shuchō :: Five (5) Individual Summon Limit

The Individual Summons may consist of any rank, so long as the Character is able to utilize them based on certain restrictions. For further details regarding these restrictions please refer to the Character Creation Guide - Arsenal Section. It is important to note that once you list an Individual Summon on a contract you may not remove or switch them out for other Individual Summons within the contract at any time. Thus, it is important you consider the Individual Summons before you create and train for them.

In order to submit Summons (Contract or Individual) for training one must post the notification of training in the respective character's Training Thread which should be located in the Character Arsenal List. For more information regarding the Character Arsenal List, refer to the Character Creation Guide, section "Other Suggestions".

Prior to creating the training thread, all players must submit the Contract or Individual Summon they wish to train, as a post at the bottom of their Training Thread, with the Training Template properly filled out. This must be done regardless of whether or not the summon in question is within an Approved Contract or consists of  New Contract. For Custom Jutsu that the Summon uses or uses in collaboration with the character, you must follow the rules regarding Custom Jutsu. Training such jutsu will follow the training for regular Jutsu but will require the presence of the Individual Summon in the content of the thread.

In other words, the process of training a Summoning Contract or Individual Summon is as follows:

  • 1. Create the Custom Contract/Individual Summon that you want the character to obtain using the Custom Summoning Contract Template and submit it to the Custom Summoning Contracts Board.
  • 2. Receive approval of Custom Contract/Individual Summon
  • 3. Submit the Training Template, which includes a link to the approved Custom Contract/Individual Summon, as a post under the character's Training Thread.
  • 4. Perform the required training for the Summon, dependent on rank.
  • 5. Get approval of the training.
  • 6. Once the training is approved, the Summon will be added to the character's arsenal.

When training for a Summoning Contract/Individual Summon, please keep the following rules in mind:

  • You may not begin training a Summon that is ranked higher than your Chakra Reserve.
  • Any Individual Summon may only ever possess one (1) Elemental Chakra Nature.
  • Individual Summons may not possess Advanced Chakra Natures of any type.
  • Training for an Individual Summon's Jutsu (Collaboration or otherwise) is to be done in the same manner that one would train Custom Jutsu for the character.
