BATTLE AND COMBAT RULES AND GUIDELINES
In order to keep in-RP combat related issues to a minimum we have constructed a few simple guidelines to follow when conducting in-RP combat. There guidelines are to be followed along with all other rules that are in place on the site. These rules apply to all in-RP combat situations regardless of number of combatants.
The links below can be used for quick navigation in order to jump to a specific section.

Re: Combat Rules/Guidelines
JUTSU USE
When in combat we shall use a basic rule of thumb that limits the number of jutsu performed in a single post. For a single character, no more than four(4) total jutsu maybe used in one post. Of these four(4) jutsu, only one can be used in an offensive manner. This simply means that you may not use two or three jutsu, one after the other to attack your opponent in the same post. It should be noted that some defensive and supplementary jutsu can be used to help bolster or further another jutsu in an offensive manner and this is perfectly acceptable. If all else fails, simply use common sense and avoid 'Godmodding'. Further restrictions may be applied which are dependent upon the rank of utilized jutsu. These are as follows:
If using an S-rank Jutsu, only one (1) other jutsu may be used in the same post.
If using an A-rank jutsu, only two (2) other jutsu may be used in the same post.
Other restrictions may apply, dependent on a specific jutsu's description. Such restrictions will be listed in the Jutsu's specific description. These are to be adhered to and this is the responsibility of the player to do so.

Re: Combat Rules/Guidelines
JUTSU REGISTRATION
When performing jutsu in combat one must 'register', or list the jutsu they used or prepared during the post.
This applies to all jutsu used so that the OOC player will not have to ask what was used. This also makes it easier to then refer to the arsenal list of the character casting the jutsu and look up the jutsu description.
In terms of prepared jutsu (some genjutsu whose effects are delayed or other jutsu that require a 'charge time') the jutsu must be registered twice:
- Once when it is first prepared, labeled 'Preparing'
- Once again when its effects are activated, labeled 'Activated'
For jutsu that are used in a post, only their names need registered and these most be placed in spoiler tags at the end of the post.
An example, followed by coding for the Jutsu Combat Registration Template can be found below.
- Spoiler:
Jutsu Used:
Jutsu Name 1 / Jutsu Name :: Preparing or Active
Jutsu Name 2
etc
etc
- Code:
[spoiler]
[b]Jutsu Used:[/b]
Jutsu Name 1
Jutsu Name 2
etc
etc
[/spoiler]

Re: Combat Rules/Guidelines
COLLABORATION JUTSU REGISTRATION
When registering a collaboration Jutsu between two different players, each character involved must register the jutsu as they begin preparation for it. The final character involved must also register the jutsu, at which point it shall be activated during the final character's post. An example of a registered Collaboration Jutsu Between two players would look like this:
---------------Player One's Post---------------
Character 1 prepares to use the Super Awesome Collaboration Jutsu by kneeling down and channeling chakra. - Spoiler:
Jutsu Used:
Collab Jutsu :: Preparing
---------------Player Two's Post---------------
Character 2 prepares to use the Super Awesome Collaboration Jutsu with Character 1. After the preparations are made the jutsu is launched.- Spoiler:
Jutsu Used:
Collab Jutsu :: Activated
For Collaboration Jutsu that utilize more than two players, the jutsu would be listed as 'Preparing' for everyone posting before the last character to be a part of said jutsu.
Re: Combat Rules/Guidelines
REGISTRATION OF JUTSU USED BY CLONES
When in RP combat the use of clones is a successful tactic to use against an opponent for several reasons. In particular, some clones are capable of utilizing jutsu that the caster knows.
These jutsu must be registered like any other. However a different format must be used to that the OOC player is made aware that the jutsu is being launched by the clone and not the original user.
- The clone(s) must be numbered in the registration template according to their arrival on the battle field.
- Following the numbering of the clone(s), the registration template must be organized so that it is clearly stated if and when a clone utilizes a jutsu.
An example can be found below, followed by the coding for the template:
----Player Post----
Character 1 creates a Shadow Clone. The Shadow Clone uses the Substitution Jutsu.- Spoiler:
Jutsu Used: <---- becomes the category for jutsu used by the original
Shadow Clone Jutsu
Clone 1 <----- The first clone to appear on the field
Substitution Jutsu
- Code:
[b]Jutsu Used:[/b] [color=red]<---- becomes the category for jutsu used by the original[/color]
Shadow Clone Jutsu
[b]Clone 1[/b] [color=red]<----- The first clone to appear on the field[/color]
Substitution Jutsu
For more than one clone you would merely assign each clone a number. It is then the player's responsibility to keep track of which clone is which in terms of placement on the field and what jutsu (if any)they use.
