Clan History

Little is known about the origins of the Shimura Clan, though it is rumored that they once held considerable prestige in the Land of Fire before coming to the Land of Wind at the behest of the previous Jounin Commander prior to the Sanjuro. Since coming to Kaze no Kuni, they have served the Wind Daimyo faithfully, and were the first clan to sign on with the Sanjuro during the civil war four years ago. Since then they have contented themselves with being the secret keepers of Kaze no Kuni, having become the guardians of the secret texts which allow a shinobi coalition to function efficiently. It is believed that their intelligence network is vast, and as such their spies have become an invaluable asset to the current Kaze no Shucho.

Description:
A clan known far and wide for their secretive nature, the Shimura are the masters of seals and deceptions. At a young age they begin learning the ancient arts of binding and time-space manipulation. As their talents in these fields progress, the members of the clan are trusted with more and more responsibility in regards to the protection of their cache of knowledge. In order to advance in rank as a shinobi, a Shimura ninja must not only pass whatever test has been put in front of them by their lord, but they must also devise a new seal or method for keeping the clan's secrets protected from prying eyes. It is because of this that security around the Shimura compound is constantly evolving, making it nearly impossible to crack without inside help.
